Stirling County 31 - 18 Gala: Home revival takes points

There was little to choose between these teams in terms of the season so far before kick off and, in truth, there wasn't much to separate the two once play began with County just about deserving their win given an improved second-half performance.

It was the visitors who got the scoreboard moving early on when Gregor Hunter chipped over a kick, but Stirling rallied and a try for Reyner Kennedy, converted by Jonny Hope, put them in front. The lead changed again, though, as Gala’s Opeta Palepoi powered over, Hunter adding the extras, before Hope levelled once more, but Hunter’s boot ensured Gala went in just in front at the break.

Nemia Kenatale put Stirling ahead, Hope converting, but the momentum swung yet again, when Rob Louw crossed for a touchdown.

However, Alex Taylor restored County’s lead, Hope again on target, and Fraser Lyke iced the cake with a score that Ross Jones goalled.
