Scotland centre Mark Bennett will see a specialist on Monday about his injured shoulder.

With the Six Nations just three weeks away, both national coach Vern Cotter and Glasgow coach Gregor Townsend will be anxious for a positive diagnosis.

“Mark had a number of injuries after the weekend. The shoulder obviously was the worst one,” said Townsend. “It didn’t look good at the beginning of the week, but it’s looking better now, so he’s got an appointment on Monday with the consultant that he had a shoulder operation [with] before. We’re crossing everything that he doesn’t need an operation but we’ll find out after Monday.”

Bennett had surgery on the same shoulder last year. He injured the same joint last weekend against Racing 92 in Paris.
