Six Nations: Busy day for Law family

THE Law family will be busy later today on both sides of the Channel, with Sarah making her first start for Scotland Women against France in Dijon and her sister and father both involved on Brewin Dolphin girls’ finals day at Murrayfield.

Eighteen-year-old scrum-half Sarah has earned four full Scotland caps so far, coming off the bench in this year’s RBS Six Nations against England, Italy, Ireland and Wales.

Now she earns her first start as the Scots look for their first win of the campaign and their first in the tournament since 2010.

While Sarah is running out at the Stade Bourillot, younger sister Rachel will be turning out for Langholm in the Brewin Dolphin Girls’ Under-15 Cup final, with dad Andy an assistant referee at the under-18 cup final.

Regular Scotland No 9 Louise Dalgliesh moves to stand-off and Tanya Griffith is on the bench, while young winger Lyndsay O’Donnell makes her debut, with Annabel Sargeant moving to centre to accommodate her.

The pack remains unchanged from the Wales loss six days ago.

Rather than looking at the quartet of defeats so far, the squad are keen to use this game as a springboard for their World Cup qualifiers next month.

Last year Scotland lost 23-0 to France in Stirling, while two years ago France won 53-3.
