The cap centurion agreed a new one-year deal with the club.

Lamont, capped 104 times for Scotland, was part of the Warriors side which won last year’s Guinness Pro12 final.

He has played 98 times for the club across two spells, scoring 27 tries.

“I’m delighted to sign for another year at the Warriors,” Lamont told glasgowwarriors.org.

“I feel I’ve still got more to give and I’m enjoying being part of a winning team.

“I want to keep on playing and I’m glad I get to extend my time at a club which I really enjoy representing.”

Warriors are through to the semi-finals of this season’s Pro12 play-offs and head coach Gregor Townsend said: “Sean is a great role model of how to look after yourself physically and play at a consistently high level throughout a season.

“He’s always said he’d like to keep on playing which is great, as the desire to keep improving and enthusiasm to play the game are vital components of performing well.

“He’s shown that his motivation levels are just as high as ever and his rugby ability is clear for all to see.

“His influence around the group is a strong one as other players look up to him for what he’s achieved in the game and what he’s still delivering on the pitch.

“We’re delighted to be able to have him with us for another season.”
