Scott Hastings relishing 'fascinating' clash of England's under-20 team-mates Cameron Redpath and Ollie Lawrence

Cameron Redpath’s Scotland debut will pit him against his former England under-20s team-mate Ollie Lawrence.

It's a Six Nations storyline that Scott Hastings branded ‘fascinating’ in the Calcutta Cup clash which will kick off the 2021 competition.

Redpath is eligible for England and France as well as Scotland through his international dad Bryan, and was almost recruited to the English camp three years ago but ruled out by injury.

And Hastings is eager to see what he will bring to Gregor Townsend’s team.

Summarising on ITV Sport, he said: “He’s a great runner of the ball. He’s coming with lots of enthusiasm and has Chris Harris who also plays in the English Premiership and Finn Russell and his box of tricks - I think he gives a bit of solidity in the midfield.

“He’s up against Ollie Lawrence who he’s played with in the England under-20s and that will be fascinating because Lawrence will want to run that channel down the 12.”
