Scotland player ratings: Who thrived and who toiled in defeat by Ireland in Autumn Nations Cup?
Scotland relinquished a 9-3 lead to go down 31-16 to Ireland at the Aviva in the Autumn Nations Cup third-place play-off.
Two tries from Keith Earls, plus one from Cian Healy continued the home side’s recent dominance of the fixture. Duhan van der Merwe’s fine second-half score was scant consolation for the Scots who have not won in Dublin for over ten years.

9. Ali Price
Looked a little sluggish at times as Scotland toiled in the second half. 6

10. Jaco van der Walt
Decent debut for the Edinburgh man who is Scotland's fifth stand-off of the autumn. Kicked four out of five for an 11-point haul and looked robust in defence. Lacked a bit of attacking sparkle but promising signs. 6

11. Duhan van der Merwe
Scored a superb try - his third in five Tests - as Scotland tried to find a way back in the second half. They didn't manage it but van der Merwe always look a threat with his pace and power. Carried for 88 metres. 7

12. Duncan Taylor
The Saracens centre looked the part for the first half hour but his yellow card for a deliberate knock-on changed the course of the game. Scotland never really recovered, conceding three tries in a crucial 15-minute period either side of half-time. 6
