SCOTLAND coach Vern Cotter has named a 35-man squad for this year's RBS Six Nations, with flanker John Barclay returning to the national set-up and two uncapped props earning selection.

Edinburgh loosehead Rory Sutherland, 23, and Glasgow tighthead Zander Fagerson, who turned 20 today, are both included, while Warriors flanker Ryan Wilson, who was cited for alleged foul play at Northampton on Sunday, has been omitted.

Glasgow centre Mark Bennett has been included after having his shoulder injury assessed by a specialist on Monday.

The squad will be captained by Greig Laidlaw, who is one of just two scrum-halves along with Edinburgh’s Sam Hidalgo-Clyne.

Scarlets flanker Barclay, who didn’t make the World Cup squad, is one of seven back-rowers included by Cotter, with Glassgow’s Chris Fusaro also getting the nod.

Scotland start their Six Nations campaign against England at BT Murrayfield on 6 February.
