Scotland captain Chris Cusiter to miss Glasgow play-off semi against Ospreys

SCOTLAND captain Chris Cusiter will miss Glasgow's Magners League play-off semi-final at Ospreys tomorrow due to his ongoing knee injury.

Scrum-half Cusiter, who suffered the injury in last Friday's win at the Scarlets, will be replaced by Mark McMillan for the match at Swansea's Liberty Stadium.

Head coach Sean Lineen shrugged off Cusiter's absence by hailing McMillan, who has won the Heineken Cup and Guinness Premiership with Wasps.

Lineen said: "It just shows the strength in depth of the squad. 'Cus' hasn't managed to pull through but what a replacement we've got in Mark McMillan.

"He's been a fantastic player for us all season."

As expected, the Warriors are boosted by the return of fit-again Scotland duo John Barclay and Max Evans, while lock Richie Gray and prop Ed Kalman have also been recalled.

Having secured a home tie for the inaugural Magners League play-offs, Ospreys will be favourites to reach the final.

But Lineen said: "We've won down in Wales before so the players are going down there with one thing in mind.

"It's going to be a 22-man effort and that has been evident this week, which has been an interesting one in training.

"Although it's been a long season, it feels as though it's starting again.

"The enthusiasm and energy and the way we've gone about this week has been very encouraging."

Meanwhile, tomorrow's game will be the first Magners League match to be televised live in Scotland this season after it was picked up by BBC ALBA.

Glasgow and Edinburgh were left without a broadcast partner for their home games in the competition following the collapse of Setanta.

Warriors chief executive Kenny Baillie said: "It's great news for all Warriors fans and for rugby in Scotland that more broadcasters are beginning to take a real interest in the game.

"I am delighted that our supporters who cannot travel to south Wales to support the team can now watch the match live on television thanks to BBC ALBA."
