9 - Produced a lethal finish as he danced over for Scotland’s first score and also an inventive touch as he set up Tim Visser for the third.

7 - Not much chance to let loose at Les Bleus’ defence but solid in defence and again impressive under the high ball.

9 - Enjoyed his shift at outside centre as he was given licence to run. Made the most of it, producing fantastic burst for Scotland’s second try.

8 - Back after a year of injury frustration but showed no signs of rustiness as he carried and tackled with intensity.

7 - Caught out for Guilhem Guiardo’s opening try as he failed to get to grips with Wesley Fofana but finished superbly to put Scotland in touching distance of victory.

9 - Yesterday’s Murrayfield win was one of his finest displays in a Scotland jersey. Stood up to French provocation as he matched their physicality blow for blow.

8 - Continues to grow at international level and can now claim to be one of the top second-rowers in the northern hemisphere.

7 - Was not the force he has been at the breakdown elsewhere during the championship but spotted the chink in French defence which lead to Hogg’s try.

8 - Stopped absolutely everything that came his way. The Edinburgh flanker is quickly establishing himself as one of Scotland’s most important figures.

7 - In for his first start of the tournament but the No 8 did not carry as well and frequently as Vern Cotter would have hoped for. Still, he maintains his impressive 100 per cent Six Nations Championship record.
