Celtic linked with Gillingham ace

CELTIC have been linked with Gillingham midfielder Bradley Dack after the 22-year-old was put up for sale by the Gills.

Despite his tender years, he has made more than 130 appearances for the League One side, netting 26 goals in the process - including 15 in the 2015/16 season alone.

The former Charlton youngster is likely to cost around £2 million and Dack’s numerous assists as well as his goals could prompt a bid from Celtic. (Various)

Hoops face competition in Taylor race

CELTIC could face competition from three Championship sides for Bristol City ace Matty Taylor.

Dubbed the ‘next Jamie Vardy’ after starting his career with non-league teams such as North Leigh, Forest Green and Chester, Taylor joined the Pirates in January 2014, and hit 20 goals as Rovers won promotion last year.

His 27 goals this season helped the club to another promotion, this time to League One, and Leeds, Preston, Hull and Celtic have all been linked with the 26-year-old. (Various)

Dow ‘will decide future in summer’

RYAN Dow, who has been told he can leave Dundee United, has told St Johnstone boss Tommy Wright that he will wait until the summer before deciding his future.

And with Hibs waiting in the wings - the Easter Road side are set to make a move for Dow if they are promoted - the 24-year-old looks to be holding on until after the play-offs before making any decisions.

With two English clubs keeping tabs on Dow as well, the midfielder said: “I thoroughly understand Tommy’s position. But the season isn’t over yet and I’d rather wait till the summer and see what sort of options are open to me.” (Scottish Sun)

United close to McKinnon deal

DUNDEE United are all but ready to appoint Ray McKinnon as their new boss after agreeing a compensation package with Raith Rovers.

McKinnon, who played for 13 clubs in a 15-year period, started his career at Tannadice and United chiefs are said to be impressed with his work at Stark’s Park, after Rovers narrowly lost out to Hibs in the Scottish Premiership promotion play-off. (Scottish Sun)

McInnes in warning to Dons board

DEREK McInnes has warned chairman Stewart Milne and the Dons board that Aberdeen’s prospects of mounting another title challenge next season will diminish if they fail to back him in the transfer market this summer.

McInnes, who led the Dons to the runner-up spot for the second successive year, said: “The directors need to get it. We all need to get it.

“We don’t want to be a club who just wipes its brow and says ‘this is much better than what it has been’. If we don’t work as a club, then we will get worse.” (The Scotsman)

‘Well ask senior players to take pay cut

MOTHERWELL have asked six of their first-teamers to take pay cuts to stay at Fir Park next season - despite securing a top six finish.

Keith Lasley, Stephen McManus, Stevie Hammell and James McFadden have all been asked to take a wage cut if they want to to stay at the club. (Scottish Sun)

Allan ‘didn’t fit my style of play’, says Deila

RONNY Deila has revealed he doesn’t regret signing Ryan Christie and Scott Allan, despite the pair struggling for game time under the Norwegian.

Allan, who was an unused sub as Celtic defeated Aberdeen 3-2 to secure a fifth successive title, had arrived after a much-publicised tug-of-war, with Rangers desperate to lure the boyhood fan to Ibrox.

Deila said: “Scott has trained well, he has talent. He maybe didn’t suit the style I want to play but he can get in the team if it’s another style. I don’t think signing him was a mistake.

“It’s a big step going from Hibs to Celtic but he works hard. He is a good guy and he has developed this year.” (Various)
