BATH have signed former Ospreys and Cardiff Blues back Gavin Henson. The 31-year-old has won 33 caps for Wales, with his last coming in August 2011.

He said: “I am thrilled to be joining Bath this summer, and I look forward to becoming part of what looks a very exciting squad. I still very much want to be playing at the highest level, and Bath is a big club.”

Henson last played for London Welsh, kicking 53 points in seven Premiership appearances last season. Injuries, though, limited him to just 11 games for the relegated club. Henson took a sabbatical from rugby in 2009 and 2010. Then he was suspended for two weeks by Toulon after a fight with team-mates, while his spell with the Blues was cut short after a drunken plane incident.

Yarde is handed England Test debut

LONDON Irish wing Marland Yarde will make his England Test debut against Argentina tomorrow. He has replaced David Strettle on the left wing and he will be joined in England’s three-quarters line by Bath centre Kyle Eastmond. The rugby league convert will step up from the bench to make his first England start after Billy Twelvetrees was called up by the British and Irish Lions. England won the first Test 32-3.
