Phil Burleigh and Fergus McFadden cited

EDINBURGH centre Phil Burleigh has been cited for 'alleged contact with the eye area of an opponent' in the 13th minute of Friday's 30-23 loss to Leinster in Dublin.

Phil Burleigh will face a Pro12 disciplinary hearing later this week.

The Irish province’s wing Fergus McFadden has also been cited for an “alleged dangerous tackle” on Edinburgh’s Damien Hoyland in the 38th minute of the same game. The thumping high tackle on the young winger looked like a red card offence but was surprisingly not even considered worthy of a yellow by referee Marius Mitrea, who simply awarded a penalty.

However, the independednt citing officer believes the 29-year-old Irishman should face a disciplinary hearing along with Burleigh later this week.
