They took a 6-0 lead in the first quarter at Meggetland when captain Nick McCashin kicked two penalties.

The home side replied before the interval through a penalty by stand-off David Reekie, but in the second half the visitors were awarded a
penalty try which McCashin converted. Staring at a 13-3 deficit, Boroughmuir’s unbeaten run was in danger and they piled on the pressure, eventually scoring a converted try through replacement Johnny Adams, but the visitors held on to win 13-10.

Nearby, at Myreside, Selkirk went 6-0 up against Watsonians thanks to two penalties by winger Scott Hendrie, before a try by home
winger Ramsay Young made it 6-5.

Two quickfire tries by Hendrie and James Bett gave Selkirk an 18-5 interval lead, though.

Watsonians started the second half well and a penalty and then a converted try by captain Ben
Di Rollo put them just three points
behind at 18-15, but Selkirk held out.

Boroughmuir are 11 points clear of Stewart’s Melville in second with Watsonians third and Selkirk fourth.

Dundee HSFP are just two points behind Selkirk after a fine 29-14 win away at Hillhead/Jordanhill. Kelso are in sixth after they battled past Biggar 21-18 at Poynder Park.

GHA are now just a point behind seventh-placed Peebles after they defeated the Borderers 26-12, claiming a four-try bonus in the process.
