Make or break for Scotland 7s at Twickenham

Scotland 7s face make-or-break ties against Georgia, Hong Kong and Zimbabwe at Twickenham tomorrow as they try to secure their HSBC Sevens World Series place.

The Scots are in the qualifying tournament rather than the main event and want to seal their core status in the top-flight sevens circuit for next season before they head for the Rugby World Cup 7s in Moscow next month.

Day one of the competition is in a round-robin format and day two a straight knockout. Scotland 7s will have to win either a semi-final or third placed play-off to secure their place in the World Series.

Captain Colin Gregor, said: “We realise the position we’re in so we want to look ahead to the weekend with some excitement about the opportunity we have and the tournament we’re playing in.”
