Llanelli 32 - 23 London Scottish: Exiles slide to defeat

London Scottish’s chances of progressing to the next stage of the British and Irish Cup took a turn for the worse as they lost at Llanelli.

A horror first half virtually ended the Exiles chances at Parc Y Scarlets as they conceded three early tries. London Scottish recovered but, by then, the damage had been done.

The Welshman started brightly and punished the Exiles by scoring those three tries in the first 15 minutes.

Centre Nick Reynolds broke the deadlock inside just two minutes, while Gareth Davies and Dion Jones followed suit to pile on the misery for the visitors.

Scottish fought back when centre Oli Grove scored two tries before the half-time mark, with James Love kicking both conversions.

But the second half didn’t live up to Scottish’s expectations as Diggy Bird for Llanelli kicked two penalties and replacement Owen Williams scored the final three points for the home side.

James Love scored two penalties of his own for the Exiles but failed to inspire his side’s comeback in the closing stages of the game with the home side holding on by nine points.
