Gloucester 29 - 3 Sale: Redpath return an unhappy one
Head coach Redpath, moved sideways after Sale’s miserable start to the season, watched grim-faced alongside director of rugby Steve Diamond as Gloucester’s eager forwards seized on every mistake by a team still anchored to the foot of the Premiership table.
Their relegation worries were underlined by an immaculate performance from England hopeful Freddie Burns, who kicked five first-half penalties and converted both of Gloucester’s second-half tries, one from Akapusi Qera and the other a penalty try.
Sale’s only points came from a Danny Cipriani penalty just before half-time.
