Glasgow Warriors v Edinburgh: Leone Nakarawa returns but Oli Kebble misses out

But prop Oli Kebble drops out of the home team for the match at Scotstoun.

Kebble is replaced at loosehead by Aki Seiuli in the only change to the starting XV which was named for the match last Friday before it was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

It means there will be first starts for Glasgow for stand-off Ross Thompson and winger Rufus McLean. Thompson impressed as a late substitute in the first 1872 Cup match at BT Murrayfield on January 2 which Edinburgh won 10-7.

There are two further potential debutants amongst the replacements, with academy duo Tom Lambert and Ollie Smith named on the bench.

Lambert, a former Scotland U19 international who has switched to represent Scotland at U20 level, provides cover at loosehead while Smith can play across the back three.

Nakarawa has recovered from a knee injury and is in line to to make his first appearance for the Warriors since their last home match pre-Covid which was against the Dragons back in February 2020.

The 1872 Cup match kicks off at 5.15pm and will be broadcast live by Premier Sports.

Replacements: Johnny Matthews, Tom Lambert, Enrique Pieretto, Leone Nakarawa, Rob Harley, Jamie Dobie, Brandon Thomson, Ollie Smith.
