A statement said: “Glasgow Warriors can confirm that Sean Kennedy has agreed to a new deal that will see him remain at the club for the foreseeable future, having impressed on a short-term deal so far in 2020/21.”

The scrum-half is in his second spell with Glasgow, having originally played for the club on loan in the 2012-13 season.

Kennedy, 29, who spent eight years at Edinburgh, has played five times for Warriors this season and scored his first try for the club against Dragons in Decemeber.

Glasgow coach Danny Wilson said: “Sean has been a real asset to us this season. He’s impressed when on the field - controlling the game well and driving the players around the park.”
