The claim comes in the wake of a report in Ireland that stated Munster lock Donncha O’Callaghan had been bitten.
The Irishman is also understood to have been involved in an altercation with Glasgow’s scrum-half Niko Matawalu in the tunnel after the match. The Fijian played the last 20 minutes after replacing Chris Cusiter.
A Glasgow spokesperson said: “We believe a dangerous act of foul play was committed by a Munster player against Niko Matawalu at Scotstoun.
“We have formally written to the citing commissioner to draw his attention to this. The matter is now with the citing commissioner and Celtic Rugby to review as part of their disciplinary process. Glasgow Warriors will be making no further comment whilst the matter is being investigated by Celtic Rugby.”
The citing commissioner, Rob Flockhart, is thought to have 48 hours to lodge an official complaint.
