Ex Edinburgh star Phil Godman to coach Dundee High

Former Edinburgh Rugby and Scotland stand-off Phil Godman is to hang up his boots this summer and has been appointed head of rugby at the High School of Dundee.

The 32-year-old former Merchiston Castle pupil is playing for the Newcastle Falcons in the English Premiership, but will be moving to the City of Discovery in June to take up his new post.

He played 150 times for Edinburgh between 20004 and 2012 and won 23 full caps for Scotland. After a season with London Scottish in 2012/13 he has been at the Falcons for the last two years.

Godman said: “I’m really looking forward to putting some of the things I’ve learned over the years and my own ideas into practice as well as just working with as many kids as possible, showing them the benefits of being involved in rugby that I’ve enjoyed in my career.”
