After five wins in six matches, Edinburgh now have back-to-back European Challenge Cup fixtures.

They travel to face Lyon at the Matmut Stadium on Saturday in a match which kicks off at 7.45pm UK time. They then return home for a match against Bordeaux-Bègles on 23 January at 7.35pm.

That game is followed by a three-week break before the Ospreys match.

Edinburgh will be keen to maintain the momentum they have gained in recent weeks and avenge a defeat away earlier in the season to the Welsh side, who currently lead the Guinness Pro12 league table by a single point from Glasgow Warriors.

Dating back to the days before professionalism, when Edinburgh was a district representative side, they regularly played against star-studded touring teams at Myreside.

Among the more notable fixtures were a 19-10 loss to Australia in November 1975 and a 16-4 defeat by New Zealand in October 1979.

Edinburgh took on the All Blacks against October 1983, this time going down 22-6 but they managed a 26-14 victory against Japan at the venue in 1986.

After Edinburgh was reorganised by the SRU as a professional side in 1996, they have played only one other touring team at Myreside, losing 26-14 to Tonga in August 2007.
