The former Hamilton defender was ordered off after just five minutes off the Pittodrie clash for pulling back his former Accies team mate Eamonn Brophy.
Dons boss Derek McInnes said after the game that referee Craig Thomson’s decision to send Devlin off was “debateable to say the least”.
Brophy later scored Killie’s opening goal as Steve Clarke’s side won 2-0. Aberdeen’s misery was compounded when former loan player Greg Stewart doubled the Ayrshire side’s advantage.
A statement from Aberdeen read: “The club has this morning received confirmation it has been unsuccessful with the appeal for the red card shown to Michael Devlin last weekend.
“We are extremely disappointed with this outcome, which will now mean Michael misses our important league match against St Johnstone after the international break.
“The club will be making no further comment.”
Devlin will miss the Dons’ next match against St Johnstone on September 15.
