Rugby: Scotland overpowered as England Under-20s march on

ENGLAND marched on towards the RBS Six Nations Under-20 Championship with a record 56-8 victory over Scotland at Newbury.

The English team, who have already beaten Italy, Wales and France, won with eight tries to Scotland's one. Coached by former Scotland A cap Rob Hunter, they opened the scoring after just four minutes through outside centre Elliot Daly from a speculative cross-kick by fly-half George Ford and, while Boroughmuir's Harry Leonard pulled back three points with a penalty, England's Christian Wade, Daly and captain Alex Gray all scored, before Scotland bounced back for loosehead prop Robin Hislop to drive over the line.

Harlequins hooker Rob Buchanan replied for England and, with Ford's precision kicking, the hosts cruised into a 27-point interval lead. After the break, England prop Mako Vunipola scored, Gray added a seventh try and Daly an eighth for his hat-trick.
