Rugby: Poor first half costs Scotland Under-20's

SCOTLAND Under-20 skipper Stuart McInally conceded he and his colleagues paid the price for a poor first half in their RBS Six Nations clash with England at Firhill last night.

Reflecting on a 27-6 defeat, in which all of the points were scored in the opening 40 minutes, the Watsonians back rower said, "We're very disappointed. We let ourselves down in the first half. We could have fronted up more." The Scots were caught cold by a physical England side that featured several players with Guinness Premiership experience.

England opened the scoring inside the first five minutes and bagged three converted tries plus two penalties, while the Scottish points came through two penalties from Edinburgh Accies stand off Alex Blair.
