Rugby: Parks foot injury adds to Scots woes

Dan Parks was today ruled out of Cardiff's rugby team for the third successive match with a foot ligament problem, intensifying Scottish injury woes ahead of the Autumn Tests starting in just over a fortnight.

With Phil Godman a long-term absentee Scotland coach Andy Robinson has already included uncapped Ruaridh Jackson in his 33-strong squad to cover the pivotal No.10 position and it is looking increasingly likely current Edinburgh No 1, David Blair, may also be called up with a view to a debut run against either New Zealand, South Africa or Samoa.

Meanwhile, as Cardiff head for Aironi in the Magners League without Parks, Scotland coach Robinson is today pondering a replacement for the injured Al Strokosch with Ally Hogg, Jason White and Roddy Grant believed to be the front runners.
