Rugby: Miss Scotland welcomes the world Sevens

MISS Scotland, Jennifer Reoch, returned to her old university yesterday to welcome teams coming to the city for the Emirates Airline Glasgow Sevens.

At Glasgow University’s cloisters, the 22-year-old was joined by students of both Glasgow and Strathclyde universities to unveil the specially-invited teams, Spain, Portugal, Zimbabwe and Russia, who will join the 12 core teams in the HSBC Sevens World Series when it arrives at Scotstoun Stadium on 5 and 6 May. She also launched a student offer of a one-day ticket for just £7.50.

Also on hand was Glasgow flanker, and former Scotland Sevens player, Chris Fusaro. “I played for Scotland sevens at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi and even since then, the game has really grown and there’s a great buzz,” he said. “I’m really excited about seeing what sort of show Glasgow can put on in May, particularly as it’s being held at what will be the Warriors home ground from next season.”
