Rugby: Livingston crush Forrester in Shield to keep run going

Livingston made it 15 wins from 15 in all competitions on Saturday with a comprehensive 56-0 win away at Forrester in the RBS Edinburgh Regional Shield.

The West Lothian side had not played a competitive fixture since November 10, but showed no rustiness as they put their hosts to the sword.

Jamie King led the way with three tries, while Kev Buchan and Gary Wilson both bagged two apiece. Craig Bolan and Jason Watt also scored tries, while 11 points were kicked. The result leaves Livingston top of Pool Two ahead of their return to league action this coming weekend.

In Pool One on Saturday, 
Linlithgow secured a 29-15 home win over Portobello.

In RBS East Two, Dalkeith edged out Trinity Accies 25-21 to return to the top of the table. The Midlothian team entered 2013 in second place behind Hawick Linden, but they managed to get their rearranged match played and secure their eighth win of the league campaign.

The Lismore-Edinburgh Northern match was called off.

In RBS East Three, Penicuik started the year with a bang, running in 47 points against bottom side Walkerburn. The 47-5 home victory puts Penicuik level on points with second placed Leith and just five points behind leaders Inverleith, 
although they have played two more games than the latter.

The Broughton-St Boswells match was called off late on Friday, despite the fact that the Edinburgh club had sourced a pitch at Peffermill.
