Rugby: Lismore homecoming is cut short by injury to referee

Lismore’s return to Inch Park on Saturday came to premature end due to an injury to the referee.

The club were playing their first match there in five years following upgrading of the ground and a new club house, and a big crowd had turned out for the RBS East One fixture with Portobello.

However, after 53 minutes the referee pulled up with a hamstring injury and, despite receiving treatment, had to retire. It was 10-7 to Lismore when the game was called off.
