Rugby League: Superb fightback earns Wigan Leaders Shield

Shaun Wane clinched his first piece of silverware as Wigan coach with a comeback victory at Hull KR, who made them fight all the way for the points.

Late tries from Pat Richards and Josh Charnley broke the hearts of the home side as the Warriors secured the League Leaders Shield with the dramatic 42-36 victory.

Damien Blanch and Clint Greenshields grabbed hat-tricks as Catalan Dragons regained fourth place in the table with a 46-26 win at Castleford. Danny Kirmond scored a decisive late try as Wakefield moved into the play-off places with a hard-fought 22-18 victory over a combative Widnes side. Joel Monaghan scored a hat-trick kept as Warrington thrashed Huddersfield 54-6. Hull FC smashed troubled Bradford 70-6 on Saturday.
