Rugby: Edinburgh re-sign star stand-offs

Edinburgh Rugby have secured young stand-offs Harry Leonard and Gregor Hunter on two-year contract extensions.

Leonard, 19, and Hunter, 20, have each played seven times for Michael Bradley’s side and are now tied to the Murrayfield outfit until 2014.

Brighton-born Leonard, who qualifies for Scotland through his mother, was brought up through the Scottish Rugby exile programme and spent 18 weeks in New Zealand on a scholarship after a spell at Boroughmuir. He is also the Scotland Under-20 captain.

Hunter has been part of the Edinburgh squad since 2010, having come through the ranks at Gala.

He has represented Scotland at several age levels and recovered from the groin injury that forced him to miss most of last season to score the winning try in the 19-14 victory over Connacht this term.
