Rugby: Eagles dare to dream in Cup

EDINBURGH EAGLES will entertain Welsh rugby league side Blackwood Bulldogs in the second round of the Carnegie Challenge Cup after receiving a home draw for the first time in ten years.

Eagles, who beat Gloucester University at the weekend, are due to meet tonight to discuss a venue which must meet specific Challenge Cup standards for a contest due to take place on the weekend of 13-14 February.

Spokesman Stuart Henderson said: "This is as good a draw as we could have hoped for although Bulldogs did very well to easily defeat Liverpool side Edge Hill in the last round."

Victory could see Eagles go in against the likes of Halifax or Barrow in the third round.
