Rugby: Cusiter signs for Glasgow

FORMER British Lion Chris Cusiter is returning to Scotland to join Glasgow Warriors, it was announced today.

Cusiter is coming home after a spell in France with Perpignan.

The 26-year-old scrum-half, who also had spells at Watsonians and Boroughmuir, has been capped 39 times for Scotland and was part of Clive Woodward's Lions squad that toured New Zealand in 2005.

Cusiter joined Perpignan following the controversial closure of the Borders professional team in 2007. However, he faced tough competition at Perpignan with fellow scrum-half Nicolas Durand, capped 18 times by France.

His arrival in Glasgow is sure to spark a battle for the scrum-half position in Frank Hadden's Scotland squad with Edinburgh's Mike Blair.
