Rose regroup to unpick Lochee defence

This Super League game was tremendous entertainment for the fans as both teams displayed impressive firepower and defensive frailties.

After an opening half hour which was lively, but carried no real evidence of the imminent goal avalanche, Rose took the lead when Chris King's incisive pass released Stuart McArthur and he clipped the ball past Mark Nugent. Just before the break King got the second when he flighted a free kick into the net after being fouled outside the box by Phil Hagan.

However the home faithful were stunned to find themselves behind within the first 15 minutes of the second half.

Rose were very much the architects of their own downfall with a slack back pass allowing Gary Middleton to notch Lochee's first.

Then Craig Robertson fired the equaliser after a scramble in the box and Phil Hagan put the visitors ahead with a deflected shot. Rose roared back and drew level when Stuart McArthur was felled in the box and Tommy Coyne slotted home the penalty.

The winner arrived when Nugent couldn't hold Adam Nelson's cross and McArthur slammed the ball into the net.
