Rose dump Thistle out of Cup

Linlithgow reached the semi final of the Fife & Lothians Cup after destroying a lacklustre Bathgate side with two goals either side of the break.

The goal-fest started as early as the fifth minute. Steve Manson picked up the ball in the middle of the Bathgate half. He waltzed past three players before sliding the ball under goalkeeper Marc Lunns body for a super individual goal.

They doubled their lead in the25th minute. A Manson free kick wide left was headed into the net from three yards out by Tommy Coyne after he rose unchallenged at the back post.

The second half had only just started when Steve Manson fired in a free kick excellently saved by Lunn. But the third goal was only delayed by a couple of minutes. This time it was John Adam who found the net with a terrific shot.

The scoring and the game was done and dusted in the 74th minute after Colin Strickland scored Rose's fourth. The ball was played into Coyne in the penalty box. He in turn laid it off to Strickland who netted from ten yards
