Rory Lamont on the mend after collision
As a record crowd for the fixture of 13,240 looked on winger Lamont was stretchered from the pitch after a ten-minute delay after he and Edinburgh rival Ross Rennie accidentally tangled contesting 50:50 possession.
Medics took Lamont almost straight to hospital with facial injuries but the player later tweeted: “Other than a headache and sore face all is good.”

Hide AdEdinburgh twice held ten-point leads helped by two tries from winger Tim Visser whose colleague, Mike Blair, compared the second of those touchdowns to an all-time great score.
“Tim Visser is a freak. In a nice way. When he got tap tackled and still scored all I could think of was [Jonah] Lomu ‘95 WC v Eng.” claimed Blair.
Conditions were horrendous – “Never played in wind like that at Murrayfield” said Blair.
Flanker Dave Denton said: “Disappointed we couldn’t close out the game. A few things to work on for next week (return leg).”
