Ronald shoots down Cardross opposition

CARLUKE'S Craig Ronald grabbed his first win of the season on the Tartan Tour in the Belhaven Best Ben Shotgun Pro-Am at Cardross last night.

The former Scottish PGA champion fired a six-under 65 and landed the 826 top prize by two shots from Robert Arnott (Bishopbriggs) and Stephen Gray (Hayston).

Chris Doak shared fourth on 68s while Cawder's Chris Kelly had to settle for a share of 11th after a 73. In the team event, Doak came out on top as he led an amateur trio from the Horseshoe Bar in Dalkeith to victory with a 56.
