Robert Blair through to Turkey semi-final

ROBERT Blair and Tan Bin Shen made it through to the semi-finals of the doubles event at the Turkey International in Istanbul yesterday.

The fourth seeds won their quarter-final by beating German pair Heumann Manuel and Tobias Wadenka 21-11 21-18 and were due to face second seeds Adam Cwalina and Przemyslaw Wacha late last night for a place in today’s final. It was the first time Scotland’s Blair and his Malaysian partner had faced the Polish pair.

In the other semi-final third seeds Nikolaj Nikolaenko and Nikolai Ukk were due to face Sweden’s Magnus Sahlbeg and Mattias Wigardt, who yesterday morning knocked out Swiss top seeds Florian Schmid and Gilles Tripet in three games in their quarter-final.
