Ree's Rascal ready to sparkle at Sandown

Ree's Rascal impressed when winning at Windsor last time and is worth watching as he makes the trip at Sandown.

The three-year-old will be saddled with an extra 6lb in the Panmure Gordon Institutional Equities Handicap but trainer Jim Boyle evidently thinks he will go up a bit more than that for his recent victory.

Ree's Rascal was twice a winner on the all-weather over the winter but needed his seasonal reappearance in April, which was also his first outing as a gelding. That run sharpened him up nicely for Windsor and he never looked like losing after taking it up a furlong from home, eventually prevailing by four and a half lengths. Ree's Rascal still looked to have a bit up his sleeve that day and further improvement would make him tough to beat.

Musawama was all at sea on the undulating Epsom track on his last run but a return to more conventional terrain should help in the Panmure Gordon Corporate Finance Handicap.

She's A Character hit the mark at Doncaster last time and can follow up at Haydock, despite a 7lb hike in the weights, while Henry Cecil can claim both divisions of the Football Pools Maiden Stakes with Midsummer Sun and Solar Sky.
