Reed blows rivals away with record

SCOTTISH SCHOOLS: Edinburgh hammer thrower Kimberley Reed laid down the performance of the Scottish Schools' Championships at Grangemouth Stadium with a 55.98 metre British U-17 record.

The Eric Liddell Memorial Trophy for the outstanding male performance went to Tom Holligan for his sprint double. Winning the 100m in 10.86 seconds on Friday he returned on Saturday to lower his 200m best to 21.64sec, well inside the Commonwealth Youth Games standard.
