The 30-year-old sustained the knock during Rangers’ 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock last month, a match which proved to be Pedro Caixinha’s last as manager.

It was thought he’d only be out for a couple of weeks but, having been absent recent wins over Hearts and Partick Thistle, Dorrans is now likely to miss upcoming games against Hamilton and Dundee, and is a doubt for the double-header with Aberdeen.

Dorrans has netted five times in 13 matches since moving to Ibrox in the summer from Norwich City.
