Rain delay at Byron Nelson

AUSTRALIANS James Nitties and Jason Day had four birdies and took the early lead in the Byron Nelson Championship before play was delayed because of bad weather.

Nitties had just made the turn and Day was playing his ninth hole when the siren went off at 11.45am local time because of threatening skies with 78 players yet to have started their opening rounds.

Nitties and Day were at four-under on the par-70 TPC Four Seasons course.

Defending champion Rory Sabbatini was even through 11 holes.
