Racing: Dream In Blue has family values to lift spirits at Lingfield

NOT a whole lot to get excited about at Lingfield, but Dream In Blue can keep all-weather fans happy with victory in the Hartfield Maiden Stakes, writes ANITA CHAMBERS.

The Jamie Osborne-trained Oasis Dream gelding is well enough related and, having been unraced until turning four, he must have been showing plenty at home.

That is exactly how it looked on his debut over 11 furlongs at Kempton last month, when only the lack of experience cost him victory. Green as you like early on and mid-race, he was putting in all his best work at the finish to get to within half a length of 9-4 favourite Sounds Of Jupiter.

A combination of that run under his belt and another two furlongs should make him extremely hard to beat and he looks something to bet on.

Prairie Hawk is bred to be a Classic winner and although he has fallen well short of that mark, he should be good enough in the Ashdown Forest Handicap.

By multiple Group One winner Hawk Wing and out of Oaks victor Lady Carla, Prairie Hawk disappointed in just one start for Aidan O'Brien before being shipped out of Ballydoyle.

Snapped up by Tim Vaughan, Prairie Hawk broke his maiden at Wolverhampton in December before a lacklustre effort on Southwell's Fibresand – a surface he just could not handle.

Returned to the Polytrack at Wolverhampton last time, Prairie Hawk won a competitive event and the fact he reappears under a penalty just four days later suggests Vaughan is keen to capitalise on his good current form.

Dishdasha was just touched off at Lingfield last month but he is the choice in Kempton's digibet Sports Betting Handicap.

The seven-year-old struck at Great Leighs early in January before making a swift reappearance when he just lost out by a head to Sunset Boulevard.

He could not find the necessary acceleration that day but, given a break to freshen him up, Dishdasha looks a likely winner here.

Princess Cagliari has been knocking on the door on her last three starts but her time can come in the Kentucky Derby Challenge 18th March Handicap.
