Queen moves into top ten in La Manga

LET QUALIFYING SCHOOL: Clare Queen has moved into the top ten following 36 holes after firing a second successive 70 in the five-round test at La Manga.

The Carrick on Loch Lomond player bagged four birdies in her three-under-par effort on the South Course to leap into a share of seventh spot on four-under – three shots behind leader Jodi Ewart from England. Three other Scots – Carly Booth, Lynn Kenny and Gemma Webster – all carded 72s in their second rounds. Booth is up to 52nd on 148, one in front of Kenny and two ahead of Webster.

Former Curtis Cup player Pamela Pretswell, who has entered as an amateur, had a second successive 76 to lie in 79th. Ewart fired a four-under 67 on the North Course to take over top spot.
