QPR capture Bothroyd

Jay BOTHROYD cannot wait to get going after joining Barclays Premier League new boys QPR on a three-year contract.

The 29-year-old yesterday became manager Neil Warnock's first summer signing, before the former Sheffield United boss moved to add experienced former England international Kieron Dyer to his ranks later in the day. Bothroyd has been a free agent since leaving Championship outfit Cardiff at the end of last season and had been linked with a move to Celtic.

"QPR's a great club," he said. "I was here as a boy, when I was nine years old. This was my first club before I went to Arsenal. Twenty years later I'm back, and it's good to be here."
