Promoted Students sound out warning

Stirling UNIVERSITY, who won the Central Taxis First Division title last season, showed they could be formidable opposition this year when they beat Whitburn Juniors 4-3 at Central Park in a friendly. Under the guidance of former Whitehill Welfare player Raleigh Gowrie the students triumphed with goals from Emmott Parr-Gallagher (2), Creag Robertson and Scott Tully.

Elsewhere, First Division outfit Craigroyston beat the Army's Royal Regiment of Scotland 4-2 at Dreghorn Barracks with goals from Stuart Martin, Kris O'Neil, Kevin Robertson and a trialist.

Tonight, Edinburgh City travel to meet Gala Fairydean (7.00pm) and Duns Ams await Vale of Leithen.
