HERIOT’S fought back from a half-time deficit to defeat Hawick in the top-of-the- table match in RBS Premier B on Saturday, writes Gary Heatly.

At Mansfield Park, it was the hosts who started in the ascendancy and two Neil Renwick penalties gave them a 6-0 interval lead, although they passed up at two clear try-scoring chances. And they were made to pay in the second-half, Colin Goudie scoring a converted try to put the visitors a point up. Heriot’s captain Graham Wilson and Hawick centre Lee Armstrong then swapped penalties before centre Max Learmonth grabbed the try that sealed a 17-9 win.
