Brian Archibald's penalty gave Stirling a slender half-time lead but captain Alex Moffat provided the impetus for the win when he bulled over from close range, Archibald adding the extra points.

Den di Rollo dragged the visitors tantalisingly close when he crossed the line, but Forbes missed the conversion and County finally sealed it with flanker Tim Clarke's try.

TO ensure this six-tries-to-one bonus-point win, Gala didn't have to do much more than defend well and wait for West to find new and outrageous ways of giving away points.

Each time the visitors entered the West 22, they emerged with points. First time up, in eight minutes, Ginho Haurau got the try off a lineout and Lee Millar converted.

Conor Davis quickly goaled a penalty for West, but a well-worked try for prop Alan Johnston and an interception one, ran-in from half-way by Bruce Dick, against a Graham Fisken try, converted by Conor Davis, put the Borderers 19-10 up at the break.

West's handling and decision-making fell apart in the second half. For Gala, Millar goaled a penalty, then Alan Edmond, Millar and Craig Dods, sprinting over 90 metres, added long-distance tries to seal the win.

Aberdeen GSFP 24 Selkirk 25

SELKIRK dealt Aberdeen Grammar's promotion prospects a blow with a last-gasp drop goal from full-back David Cassidy who notched 20 points. Cassidy added a conversion and five penalties to hand Selkirk a first win in Premier B.

Grammar looked to have won the game in the 78th minute when lock Martyn Faville plunged over to tie the scores up at 22 apiece. Stand-off Rob Aloe kicked the conversion only for Cassidy to step up and spoil the party.

Earlier, prop Rob Taylor scored an easy try for Selkirk, but it was Cassidy who kept the Borderers in the game with his immaculate kicking.

Grammar scored three tries through centre Fraser Lyle, prop Angus Dixon and Faville but were never sufficiently composed to win. They must now win at least two of their last three games to feature in the promotion shake up..
