Poor opening for Lyle after two lost balls

SANDY Lyle lost two balls in the space of seven holes as he made a mediocre start in the Aberdeen Brunei Senior Masters yesterday.

“This course is dangerous,” said the former Open champion after signing for a two-over-par 73, nine shots behind joint-leaders, Australian David Merriman and Thailand’s Boonchu Ruangkit.

Lyle, whose lost balls came at the 11th and 17th, was joined on the same score by Sam Torrance.
