Players seeking to impress new coach

BADMINTON: Susan Egelstaff is chasing a fifth women's singles title at the Yonex Scottish Championships at Bell's Sports Centre in Perth this weekend, while fellow Glaswegian Kieran Merrilees is favourite to win the men's event for a first time.

In the doubles, there is a welcome return from injury for World top ten player Imogen Bankier.

She is top seed with Edinburgh's Emma Mason and is also tipped to lift the mixed title for a fourth time in a row with Renfrew's Watson Briggs.

All players are looking to impress Scotland's new China-born coach Yvette Yun Luo, ahead of the Commonwealth Games.
