Pittman bemoans red mist at short-handed Broxburn

BROXBURN boss Steve Pittman still can't believe his side ended last week's Premier Division defeat against Arniston with only eight players on the park.

John Wilson, Jamie Nixon and Stewart Ritchie all got their marching orders in the 3-1 loss - Broxburn's first league defeat of the season.

But Pittman said: "To be honest, I didn't think there was a bad tackle in the game."

Wilson and Ritchie were both shown straight red cards and are suspended for tomorrow's trip to Glenrothes.

"I thought it was a bit harsh to get three players sent off," added the Broxburn manager.

"We were still in the game until the last five minutes but sometimes you've just got to take these sort of decisions."

Glenrothes, relegated from the Super League last season, go into the game two points behind Broxburn.

"I have always fancied them to be one the stronger teams in the league along with Arniston and Carnoustie," said Pittman.

"I have spoken to Allan McGonigal about them and will be getting in touch with a couple of other managers who've played against them already this season to hear what they've got to say.

"I know they have a player in centre mid who some people regard as the best player in the league but we are looking forward to the game - every match we play this season is a different challenge."
